Stephen Covey on choosing success

If you are passioned about personal and professional development or about success, management and business it’s impossible not to know about the Self-HelpĀ Mogul Stephen Covey and his best-seller 7 Habits for Highly Effective People.

Today I want to remember to you all these habits that applied can lead you to success:

1. be proactive

Only by doing activities and actions and taking ignitiatives can make you a successful person and your business to grow.

2. focus on result

If you picture yourself as you already have reached your goal, it makes more clear to you what you must do for that, you start to act in that direction, you start to behave yourself and to think like you already achieved your goal. And by doing that you are closer to success.

3. focus on priorities

In order to achieve your goal you have to do more actions, but it’s important to stay focussed on the top priorities.

It’s very indicated to write a list with your top priorities actions and the other actions that will lead you to success.

4. think win-win

It’s very important to see situations as both parts gain, not only for your benefit. You can build strong partnerships and even friendships by acting like this.

5. first understand, then be understood

During the communication with a partner or client of yours it’s most important to understand her/his need or idea and then to say something that will make you be understood.

6. synergize

This mean to do more actions that are taking your business to success.For example, to speak in public at conferences, to write specialized articles, to organize workshops, etc.

7. sharpen the saw

All the effective leaders are taking also breaks after work in order to be more effective.
